1 - Do you want to drive traffic to your website?
Social media drives traffic to your website. It is a vital aspect to your Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Don’t believe us? Google a person or a business. The first entries are their social media pages: LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Yelp, etc. If you want to be found online, you need to have a robust social media presence.
2 - Do you want to build a loyal following of advocates who will refer you to friends and family?
Think back to the last time you were looking for a service professional or shopping for a big ticket item. What was your process for making that decision? In addition to researching online, did you ask friends and family on Facebook or Twitter for recommendations? Did they have any to offer? If your answer is “YES”, then you already know the power of the referral. Even more importantly, were there any warnings of what to avoid? Bet you didn’t go with that choice.
The same principle applies here. As a business or business professional, you want and need loyal customers. You want advocates who will follow you on social media, sing your praises and spread the word far and wide. The most effective way to do this is through social media.
3 – Legitimize your business.
Remember long, long ago, in a land far, far away when having a website was optional? Today, if a company doesn’t have a website, they are not taken seriously. The same is now true for social media.
4 - Is your competition on social media?
Your competition is on social media. They are reaching potential customers and fostering loyal ones with their social media presence. Hop online and search for yourself. If your competition is enhancing its online presence with social media and you aren’t, who are people likely to find and contact?
